Privacy policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
Mint Badges is a Shopify app made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects when a merchant installs it, how we use it, and how it's deleted.
The short version
- We store the labels and trust blocks you create: texts, colours, rules (collections, tags, types, vendors, prices), schedules and settings.
- We don't collect or store any personal information about your customers. The storefront code runs in your theme and the shopper's browser and never sends anything to our servers.
- We don't use cookies, local storage or trackers on your storefront, and we never sell or share your data.
- When you uninstall, everything we hold about your store is deleted.
Permissions we ask Shopify for
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Read products | So you can choose collections for your rules, so we can keep those collections' handles up to date, and so the label preview can show your 12 most recently updated products. Product data used for the preview is read when you open the editor and is not stored. |
We also read your store's timezone and currency (for schedules and price rules) and your Mint Badges subscription status from Shopify. We can't see or change your orders, customers, themes or payments.
What we collect
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Your store's domain and a Shopify access token | To connect to your store when you use the app. |
| Your labels and trust blocks: names, texts, image links, colours, the IDs, titles and handles of collections you choose, tags, product types, vendors, price ranges and schedules | To show them in the app and publish them to your store. We copy them into a metafield owned by the app in your Shopify store, which your theme reads directly. |
| Your store's timezone, currency, plan and label settings | To convert schedules correctly and decide which features to turn on. Payments are handled entirely by Shopify. |
Shoppers and the storefront
Your theme decides which labels apply using the product information it already has. For product cards outside collection and search pages, the Mint Badges script reads the product's public data from your own store (the standard /products/<handle>.js address) inside the shopper's browser. Nothing is sent to us, nothing is stored in the shopper's browser, and no cookies are set. We don't receive, store or process customer personal data, and we respond to Shopify's customer data request and deletion webhooks as required — there is nothing for us to return or delete.
Where data is stored
The app runs on Cloudflare (hosting and database) and connects to Shopify's APIs. Data is encrypted in transit. We don't use any other third-party services, analytics or advertising.
Retention and deletion
We keep your labels and trust blocks while the app is installed. When you uninstall, your access token is deleted immediately and Shopify removes the app's metafield from your store, so labels and trust badges stop showing. Shopify then asks us to erase your store's data 48 hours later, at which point everything is permanently deleted. You can also email us to request deletion at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about your store. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
